Individual Therapy

"Therapy is a confidential, supportive space where you are listened to, respected, and met exactly where you are."

A place to begin

Starting counselling can feel daunting. You might be unsure where to start, what to say, or even why you’re thinking about therapy at all. Many people arrive with a sense that something isn’t right, but without a clear explanation, and that’s more than enough.

There’s a common belief that counselling is only for moments of crisis, for people who are “at breaking point,” or for those who had an awful childhood. In reality, therapy is for anyone who feels anxious, low, overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves or others.

Individual therapy offers you a space to slow things down and explore what’s going on, at your own pace. There is no pressure to have answers, to talk about everything straight away, or to justify why you’re here. We begin wherever you are.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and non-judgemental. Together, we work to make sense of your experiences, build emotional resilience, and support you in moving towards greater clarity and balance.

Reaching out is not a sign of weakness, it’s a meaningful first step towards caring for your wellbeing.

What to expect in your first session

Your first session is a chance to settle in and see whether therapy feels right for you.

We’ll talk about what brings you to counselling, what you’re hoping for, and any concerns or questions you may have. I’ll explain how therapy works, including confidentiality and boundaries, so you know what to expect.

There is no pressure to share anything before you’re ready. The first session is about getting to know each other and beginning the work in a way that feels safe and manageable.

You don’t need to prepare anything in advance. There is no right or wrong way to be in therapy, we move at your pace.

Taking the next step

If you’re considering counselling, you don’t need to be certain or have everything figured out. Feeling curious, uncertain, or ready for change are all valid places to begin.

When you feel ready why not get in touch to discuss an appointment or ask any questions that you may have.
