Welcome

My name is Claudia O'Keeffe and I am a Counsellor and Psychotherapist at The Therapy Hub Cork.

Coming to a therapy website often means something inside you is asking for attention, even if you’re not quite sure what that is yet.

At The Therapy Hub Cork, I offer a warm, confidential space where adolescents and adults can pause, talk things through, and begin to make sense of whatever is going on for them. You don’t need to be in crisis or have a clear reason to begin. Feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, stuck, or simply curious about therapy is enough.

Starting counselling can feel daunting. Many people worry about where to start, what to say, or whether their difficulties are “serious enough.” Therapy is not about being fixed or judged, it’s about being listened to, understood, and supported at your own pace.

How I work

My approach is warm, caring, collaborative, and non-judgemental. I work alongside you, beginning exactly where you are. There is no pressure to have answers or to talk about anything before you’re ready.

I work with:

  • Adults seeking individual therapy

  • Adolescents navigating emotional, social, or developmental challenges

  • Parents and guardians looking for guidance and support

Confidentiality, trust, and respect are at the centre of my work. With adolescents, care is taken to balance privacy, safety, and appropriate parental involvement.

A space for adolescents

Adolescence can be a challenging time. Therapy offers young people a safe space to talk, think, and make sense of their experiences without pressure or judgement.

Young people don’t need to know what to say or why they’re coming. Therapy is about having someone on their side while they figure things out.

A space for adults

Adult life can bring many pressures; work, relationships, family, identity, and change. Individual therapy offers time and space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself.

You don’t need to reach a breaking point to seek support. Therapy is for anyone who feels they could benefit from understanding themselves more deeply.

Experience you can trust

Alongside formal training, I bring years of experience in youth work, youth advocacy, family support, domestic violence services, and community-based therapeutic practice. This background informs a grounded, trauma-aware, and compassionate approach to therapy.

I am a pre-accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and work in line with their ethical framework.

Taking the first step

Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, whether for yourself or your teenager. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin.

If you’d like to ask a question or book an appointment, you’re very welcome to get in touch.
